Best For:

Kindergarten–3rd Grade | Libraries | Classrooms | Assemblies

What The Students Will Discover:

Sometimes the things that seem scary become a little less mysterious when we slow down, ask questions, and take a closer look.

Through storytelling, discussion, and audience participation, students learn how curiosity can replace fear and how new perspectives can change the way we see the world.

Inspired By

The 8-time award-winning picture book Haunted House: A Day & Night Tour, this interactive author presentation invites students to explore a spooky old house—twice!

First, students tour the house during the daytime to discover the clues, props, and behind-the-scenes preparations that bring the spooky experience to life.

Then they return after dark to revisit familiar spaces, discover unexpected new ones, and experience how perspective, context, and new information can change what they think they know.

Along the way, they'll discover a powerful lesson: things are not always what they seem.
